However, with most cooling water particles being extremely fine (0.25 to 10 microns), the ability of the filter to cost effectively remove these tiny contaminants is the key to successful sidestream filtration.
Diamond Water Systems unique design provides 0.25-micron removal with minimal backwash water requirements. We use ultra fine sand for the top layer and rapid plugging is prevented by swirling water across the sand to constantly clean the surface by pushing contaminant to the storage area. Backwash water is minimized due to the large storage area and rapid contaminant discharge.
Our TSA Series filters can remove 80% or more of typical tower water particles (0.25 to 10 microns) on each pass through the filter. Comparing filter efficiencies (80% vs. 20%) shows why multimedia filters must be sized four times larger than our high efficiency filters.
